Urban life is full of compromises. Everyday people encounter situations that require them to hold back and stifle their gut reactions. The creatures of Chicago urban life inspire wildly different reactions. Stumbling upon a rat one person may scream and holler, another grimace and the third might have a rat at home as a pet. Wild bunnies inspire many children to coo, but a gardener would tell you a story or two. This installation is inspired not only by the native creatures of the city, but by the reactions, discussions and stories they create in our lives.
