The bright colors of street signs inform us and then recede into the background. The subtly of changing your path to go around a pothole, becomes a slight pause in the day. The drastic change brought on by a detour, new sights, sounds and a longer commuting time, is an experience. The shear mess of transit is an aesthetic. Approach everyday anew and some days you may learn that the path you want to choose is blocked. From mundane commuter traffic patterns to the bizarre event that changes the course of history our paths are influenced by more then our choices. They are an expression of the way we live together. Every path is chosen, except the one that follows a detour route.
